The Arts & Entertainment Committee plans activities and events in the performing, visual, literary, culinary, and craft arts for the Club. The goals for the Arts & Entertainment Committee include supporting MIT-based and other local arts groups, creating compelling educational arts-related activities, and providing a diverse set of arts and entertainment activities throughout the calendar year. Most of all, we want to be the committee that adds the most essential ingredient to the MITCOB experience: FUN!!
Our ability to provide a full calendar of diverse arts and entertainment events for the Club will be greatly enhanced if we have volunteers to help us plan and execute these wonderful events. Some of the events we're working on include: - Dance performances (Boston Ballet, Snappy Dance)
- CRAFTBOSTON crafts fair and exhibition
- Jazz concerts (Chick Corea, other international and local artists)
- Documentary film screenings
- Visits to comedy clubs
- Theatrical events (plays, musicals)
- Photography exhibitions
- MIT-based performances (music, theater, dance)
- MITCOB Book Club
- Walking architectural tours
- Museum tours (MFA, MIT List Art Gallery, Gardner Museum)

We have a great slate of cultural events in the works. If you have a specific interest in these or other kinds of entertainment or just-for-fun events (such as brewery tours, local rock/pop/jazz concerts, comedy shows, or whatever), then please let us know - we would love to hear your ideas! Our activities and events rely on alumni volunteers who organize and run the events, many associated with their own personal hobbies and interests. Organizing an event is an excellent way to share and support your interests with fellow alums! If you are interested in organizing an arts- or entertainment-related event for the Club, then please contact the Arts & Entertainment Chair, Rachel Ellman.
